About Us

As a non-profit foundation based in Berlin, we are committed to promoting democracy and civil society participation internationally. To this end, we support projects in the fields of art and culture, education and sustainability, and also carry them out ourselves.

In our engagement, we work together with civil society initiatives from our partner countries and organise educational, advisory and exchange formats. We place a special focus on the creation of transnational sustainable networks.

The foundation’s founding assets come from the estate of the artist and craftsman Ulrich Stroß. He lived and worked almost his entire life in the apartment building in Rönnestraße in Berlin-Charlottenburg, which was purchased by his father shortly after the Second World War – hence the name of the foundation. His lived conviction of peaceful and tolerant coexistence should continue to have an effect on our society within the framework of the Foundation’s activities.
